Remembrance day.
The Last Night
The cacophonous din
Assails my ears like darkness
Beats upon the last light before the drapery of dusk.
The stars hide their arcane faces deliberately
As I subtly succumb and wonder how
Superficial their existence is. The bullet digs deeper.
My life lies lamenting.
Solace this has given me though it
Not be what I desire; my staid self suggests otherwise.
Solace, I scrutinize to perchance appear,
An aberration adeptly, inveterately intrepid;
Poised precariously before me the slivering scythe;
The faint flicker of silvery light.
Now I am ready to die.
